Connections Working Group

The goal of the WA-MS Connections Working Group is to contribute to the progress and development of membrane technology by acting as a link between industry and research institutions on a global level. The WG helps to expand the connection and cooperation options existing in some regions of the world and between continents.

We also identify and help understand existing barriers that limit information exchange between industry and research institutions. We will improve trust for more efficient communication that drives meaningful outcomes and collaboration and identify ways of an open work/research space to have communication and exchange actively taking place.

Overall, we strive to contribute to creating a future workforce that is adaptable to intercontinental ways of working and thinking.

WA-MS Survey: Industry-Academia Collaboration

The Working Group is working to develop suggestions on how to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial applications to improve the path towards commercialization. To explore the challenges, the group has developed a survey with ten questions that was sent to over 100 membrane experts globally divided equally between academic and industrial experts. Over thirty responses from

Europe, Asia, and America have been received and summarized. Please see below a one page summary with the main findings and follow this link to the full report. Please reach out to any of the Working Group members if you have any questions or comments. Thank you.
